Suction hoses of the suction dredgers are expensive wear parts. Each suction dredger is interested in using its suction hose as long as possible in time, because the high flow velocities attack the inner walls of the hose in a great extent, depending on the material. High forces act from the flexible hose carrier upon the suction hose. Note that an angle greater than 90° shall generally be avoided.
Before opening the lid, you should first move the articulated tube carrier from the transport position to a working position. This protects especially the last free moving part of the suction hose.
For long life, a regular control is essential. Use the weekly maintenance to regularly control your hose, as well. You can rotate it several times, depending on the wear, to reposition the damaged area differently. You can also turn it from the lid to the hose carrier end. You can find detailed information in our flyer.
1 Carefully avoid a misalignment of the individual arm members of the flexible tube carrier.
2 Open the lid only with the arm extended.
3 Check the suction hose on a weekly basis and reposition it, if necessary.
